My name is Brandon Jackson, I’m the Head of Product at OpenFn. Last year we introduced Kafka triggers as an experimental feature. I know that a few of you have used it (@mohau).
We do plan to build a fully supported Kafka trigger in the next six months. However in the short-term we need to fully remove the existing Kafka trigger in the upcoming v2.18.1 release, scheduled for early September. Any workflow requiring kafka triggers will migrate automatically to be a webhook trigger.
This is part of a general move to remove partial features in order to improve the security posture of the app.
