Happy Friday
I’m Hanna, an AI Engineer here at OpenFn
Starting today, I’ll share my favourite AI news, tips, or recommendations from the week every Friday afternoon in a post in this section of the forum. If you have anything AI-related you’d like to share too, feel free to join in.
This week I’ve been using Google’s free NotebookLM for keeping track of a project.
It’s similar to a Google Drive folder, where you drop in your content for a given project/topic (synced Google Docs, websites, PDFs, youtube videos…). You can just treat it as a multimodal folder for the project, but the key feature is that it makes it easier to query an LLM while making sure it has access to (only) the relevant information. It also automatically summarises each resource you’ve dropped in.
A couple of examples of what I might ask the NotebookLM:
What was the name of that paper where they review lots of the relevant research?
Where’s that bit in my meeting notes where I wrote what snomed and icd10 codes should be used for in this project?
It also has a podcast feature, where you can generate a podcast about your material. It’s convenient, and incredibly creepy.
