What is State in OpenFn?

One of OpenFn’s frequently used terminologies is state and if you’re new to the OpenFn, you might wonder what it means. In our docs, we defined state as a javascript object that provides a means for the jobs to share information (data) and a common scope for operations to read and write data.

Whilst that definition is quite functional, @taylordowns2000 used a box to explain what state means to @Meghan-Gilroy and @jackohilts in this video and I thought it would be great to share with the community.

Would you like more videos like this and which OpenFn concepts would you like us to explain with relatable objects (pun intended:melting_face:) like a box?

@taylordowns2000 also wrote an article that explains jobs and state here.
