Test mode for workflows

We need a “test mode” for workflow and related workflow runs. Right now when a project goes live, there is no way in the UI to see which historical Runs were from when the workflows were in “test mode” vs. which are real production Runs that need attention if they failed.

(The OpenFn core team solves for this by having separate projects for “test” and “prod” workflows, inputs, and runs… but general users will typically not have this.)

Aleksa, is this a similar request to Sandbox/test and production projects?

It seems to me that they have quite similar workarounds.

Similar and related, but different. Both features would still be valuable. Workflow-level test mode might address the most urgent need, but longer term having entirely separate sandbox/prod projects is important to delivering enterprise-y features.
